Today, my husband and I, as well as our two oldest kids, have dark hair. Our youngest came out with very blonde hair, like my older brother's. My husband insists on calling the baby our little “golden-haired Lannister”, no matter how many times I’ve asked him to stop. He thinks it’s hilarious. FML

Today, I was chatting with my optician and it came up that eye colour is determined by parents eye colour, such as how blue and brown-eyed parents can’t make a green-eyed baby. My wife and I are blue and brown. Our 6 year-old has green eyes. I confronted her and she admitted she'd had an affair. FML

Today, I colored my hair. It was supposed to turn out blonde, but it became more a mix of red and brown and blonde patches. When I tried coloring everything back, a green tint was added. My hair is at the moment red, brown, blonde and green. FML

Today, I decided to dye my hair blue. The result is slightly different than I expected: my white bathroom is now blue, and so are my skin and nails. The only thing that isn't blue is my hair, which is now green. FML

Hope you didn't assume your wife cheated or say anything to your wife about it, because like the many poeple above me stated it is possible. I put YDI for just being uneducated about genes and family traits and then having a kid.

....I don't see the FML here. Red hair isnt impossible, it could be somewhere back in the family or some other genetic thing. And red hair is pretty. I WISH I had red hair. Enjoy your new baby.

wow, you are really worried over that? Both my parents and my brother have brown hair. My twin sister has brown hair, and I have red. Besides, red hair isn't really red...it's a mixture of the hair colors, I have blonde and brown in my hair, it's called strawberry blonde.

Yes, red hair is red. It's caused by a mutation in this one gene or something. I don't know. Just search "red hair" on wikipedia.
