dude, pay attention in school. that is 7th grade stuff there. the gene for red hair is recessive, ANYONE, not just blonds can have the gene for red hair but not have red hair. but both parents would have to have the recessive gene to have a child with red hair. and no its not a mutation! nor does the gene for hair come from the mother, it comes from both parents equally. that is just stupid medieval thinking there. and if you just upset that your child is a redhead, you need to stop being so damn prejudice!!!! oh also if your childs eyes stay blue, the hair color will either stay red or get lighter or turn blond. if his eyes turn brown, his hair will probably get darker or turn brown. it has to do with the pigments...

I have red hair and both my parents ar brunettes. Red is a recessive trait. The only thing you should worry about is the lack of faith you have in your wife.

My parents have brown hair, as well as all three of my siblings, but I have blonde hair. No one on my mom's side has blonde hair either, nor my dad's, except his father. It's pretty common, but sometimes your hair color changes as you grow older. My best friend was born with red hair, but is now a blonde.

uh yeah it doesn't really matter. I'm blonde and no one on either side of my family, other then my brother, has blonde hair. So YDI for being an idiot and not knowing this kind of things

Most blondes start out as red heads. I had red hair when I was born my hair is now a dirty blonde.
