Today, on an important call with a potential employer, he began to speak quieter and quieter until I couldn't hear him at all. When I finally hung up after waiting for 5 minutes, I realized that I had been pressing down on the volume button. FML

While you do deserve this one, you can always call back and say it was a bad connection and you couldn't hear them. Not completely lying anyway.

Oh dear. I hope he hung up before you started yelling "Hello? HELLO?" into the phone.

36- He's 13, kids at that age don't need a phone, he's actually right "no point"

If you didn't realize you were pressing the volume down button you probably weren't getting a job that included a phone interview.

How can you not hear the sound the phone makes when you turn the volume up/down? Never tried a phone that doesn't notify with a sound click or similar.

Dumb ass... I wouldn't hire anyone that is so foreign to technology, that it takes them the better part of 15 minutes to realize they are inadvertently tapping the down button on the volume control. Tough break OP. I really do hope you called them back with a great excuse for hanging up on them.

43 Yet you can walk down the street and kids younger then that with one. It's like what the hell give them a tamatachi.

Hey, at least it's a funny story to look back on!

I hope you called back and said your call dropped.

45 - Generally, you can turn that sound off. At least, you can on all of the phones I have owned.

Well, I hope you called back to apologize and explain.
