It's okay to put one or two of your personality traits into a charector, but when you make a charector based off yourself, it never turns out good. Just look at twilight.
haha! this, for sure. and you totally deserve it.
comic company knows best.
In other words, you submitted yourself for commentary. You literally asked for it. YDI.
Err, even the most interesting person you know in real life will get this same response.
Ouch, like #1 said, that's why getting inspiration for a character from yourself is never a good idea...hey why don't you try creating a character totally opposite from you? Or like you, just based on how you'd react if something totally unexpected happened? A little character growth, you know what I'm saying?
But did they read the part where the shut in gets abducted by men and is injected with ployurathane and sprouts wings with semi automatic machine guns and a fiery tail that burns with the intensity of a thousand suns? Yeah if they didn't that's the problem.
Whilst I do think it hurts to hear that about your own personality, rule one of any character design is: NO SELF INSERTS. Seriously, you'll either end up with a Mary Sue or a boring character. Everyone knows this rule.
I want a link to this comic so I can laugh at what a loser you are. Please?
In a story of any kind, the development of the characters personality to the reader/audience is paramount. You may have a great personality, but the way you protrayed it in the write up may not have effectively passed that on to the reader. In another words, it may be your writting sucks - try again.

Self-inserts are never okay.
To be honest, the comic company is probably pretty accurate in its assessment.
