Today, one of the kids I was babysitting tried to hard boil eggs using the microwave. You cannot hard boil eggs using the microwave. It makes a mess. This we have learned. FML

Today, after boiling eggs my whole life, I wanted to try a packaged hard-boiled egg for the first time. I'd never had a cold egg before, so I thought it would be a good idea to warm it up. Now, I'm cleaning out a billion pieces of egg shrapnel in the microwave. FML

Today, I learned the hard way that if you tell your child that they're old enough to cook their own food in the microwave, you have to make sure they're smart enough not to put the metal spoon in with the food as well. FML

Today, I learned that I actually like my boiled eggs a bit softer than I usually make them. I also learned that an outwardly lukewarm egg, when bitten into enthusiastically, is perfectly capable of creating a volcanic eruption of boiling hot yolk all over your hands, clothes and kitchen. FML

You actually can microwave an egg if you place it in a cup of water while microwaving, which should prevent it from exploding. I've never tried it, but I've heard that it tastes pretty much exactly like it would if you hard-boiled it.

I have tried that, yes it works fine. It basically boils the water in the cup like it would on the stove while also nuking the egg in the process. As a bonus it takes less time than on the stove.

put eggs under seran wrap, poke a hole in the seran wrap and puncture the yolk. put in for 1-1 1/2 minutes

your just dumb, poke a hole in the top of the egg and fill a glass or coffee mug with water put the egg in then microwave for a minute / minute and a half or better yet get off your lazy ass and cook food for the kid YOUR supposed to be taking care of. YDI.
