I might be different but that's how we actually greeted teachers (and really any adult walking into classroom) when I was back in elementary school.

It happens. I studied and did my internship in Japan, so now, even if I'm back in France, I still have the habbit to do that little bow. It's not a bad habbit though, it shows respect, so it's ok.

I've only been practicing Aikido for a year and sometimes I catch myself bowing when entering and leaving a room. Haven't actually done it yet, but when I do I expect a lot of questions...
