Today, someone came over and told my mother, "I'm your son's friend Morris, I need to get something out of his car", so she gave him the keys. I have no friend called Morris, and now I don't have a sound system either. FML

I apologize for my rudeness earlier :/

What an idiot! He had your keys, he could have easily stolen your entire car, but he just took the sound system?!

well you could see if you could lift Morris' prints from inside your car and track the dude down. or you can make your mom pay for a new stereo and never let her have your keys anymore.

Look on the bright side, at least he didn't steal your car. But other-wise, it was kind of your mom's fault too because she would just trust someone like that. If I were her, I would've asked you if it's okay if he would do that or if you knew him or something like that. FYL

FYL, but wow, your mom really needs to learn to watch out for scams. There are some Nigerian princes and some lotteries she never entered out there that would love to make her some irresistible offers. Though I really wonder why the mother had keys to begin with. Maybe OP was a minor, and she had at least partial ownership over the car? In any case, it's a good lesson in the benefits of being exclusively responsible for your own property.

Your mom's retarded. She should've woken you up so you could hand the keys to your "friend" yourself. Or better yet, she could have escorted him to your car. Who the hell gives car keys to someone they've never seen before?
