Go with the flow (haha, get it?) But no, that is seriously awful.

That's called a haemorrhage. And you should get it checked out.

it obviously works...but you may run out of money for buying tampons/pads left and right...find a different pill or get a doctor placement to pretect against pregnancy...can't remember the name of it...

It'll be fine after a few weeks. I had my period for 2 and a half months when I went on it. You'll be fine :)

This one isn't funny cuz my most recent ex had that exact problem...

Well op if you're using depo (the shot), mirena (IUC), or the implant that's normal. You can get that bleeding for for up to 6-9 months and most of the thine your period can go away. Anything else like the pills, the patch, and the ring can cause you to get irregular periods and spotting for up to 3 months, if it last any longer than that you should talk to your doctor!!

I know how you feel. Talk to your doc about maybe going on a lower dose version for a few months and then gradually upping it to what you were originally on. And in the meantime, take iron supplements and drink plenty of water. Trust me, I have experience on the issue.

JESUS ******* CHRIST HOW THE HELL ARE YOU NOT ******* DEAD

This happened to me once. You have to stop taking them.

OP you need to stop taking this form of birth control as it clearly doesn't agree with your body. And the people saying, "OMFG HOW ARE YOU NOT DEAD?!" You guys are ******* morons. The body produces A LOT more blood a day then a period releases. Infact, a period releases very little blood. You give about 500x as much blood going to a blood bank, which you can do ever few days, then you lose having the heaviest period.

"...a period releases very little blood." ...Unfortunately untrue for some. Bear with me. This is gross stuff: I had the horrible experience of a three-month-long period - when I was ten years old - due to cysts. I was a pale, thin, nauseous husk of a little girl. I can assure you this; it is hell, day in and day out, bleeding so much you need to wear diapers, your life slowly wilting away because of something your religious aunt calls a 'natural gift and blessing.' (This was during a family road trip vacation no less... So many strangers saw me running to rest area bathrooms, my pants covered in blankets. Embarrassment has never been more harsh). If my mom hadn't taken me to a hospital to be tested, being the doctor she is, I'd probably be dead. Taking birth control saved my life. No, I have never actually used it for 'birth' control. Only hormone control. At any rate, yes, periods can be heavy as all the fiery hells humans can imagine. You must have been a lucky, healthy specimen. Good for you. NOW my period is easy as pie. It's been over a decade since that nightmarish summer, and I am forever grateful for my mother, my life, science, and medical prowess.

Try having to change 22 pads and 35 tampons in a 3 hour span, with blood clots the size of soft balls every ten minutes, then tell me that u donate more blood than ur period
