Don't make the mistake another OP made and get shit-faced drunk to "calm your nerves". Take deep breaths, practice conversation with yourself if it helps. Talk to friends, family, etc. about it if they have experience. If all else fails, do some breathing and yoga exercises before the date. It helps calm you down pretty well. Good luck.

I'd hate to see what happens when/if you fall in love with this guy. Though, if it makes you feel any better, the moment I realized I was in love with my girlfriend I passed out in front of her. So it could surely be worse.

I used to get nauseous when I would spend time with my girlfriend, but it was only because of nerves. Just think in your head that it's really a very linear process, and that if he liked you enough to ask you out then there's nothing to be nervous about. Best of luck.
