Today, the man I have been in love with for years came to me with a beautiful ring and a heartfelt proposal. Too bad it ended with an eager, "So do you think he'll say yes?" FML

Reminds me of the music video for "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Im not trying to judge or anything, but how could you not know he was gay?

Sorry stupid question, but how do we know OP isn't male?

What if the person who made the post is a guy and is gay?

Considering the Op knew him well enough that he felt comfortable practicing it with her and knew her that long there were probably signs. If he was that comfortable with you I doubt somehow he hasn't mentioned it before.

I'm sorry, because I know it sucks, but you 100% deserve it. You were in love with someone who could never return your affections, and you kept it up for years.

You probably miss heard. I mean she'll and he'll sound pretty much that same but there's on letter added

I don't think that she thought he was proposing to her. She must have known that he was practising proposing to his boyfriend and just wanted her opinion on the proposal. The fact that he was practising proposing to someone else was just a painful reminder that he'll never feel the same way she does and that they won't be together.
