I would like to know how the op is shallow? The lady is dead and there is nothing they can do about it. However the op still is alive and needs to pay their bills and eat. What if they were depending on the payment to buy groceries or pay their rent?

Yes. I know, it's sad the lady died, I'd be upset too. However this was also this persons job, and they probably needed the money. how do we know that this was THE first thought to cross their mind, just because the FMLs are formatted to include today?
