I don't see how it's terribly offensive. Besides, I'm sure he announced ahead of time that they were giving roses to single women.
#26.....candles are nice, but how about some lacy underwear and heating up the massage oil while you're at it?
My theory, like others have said, is that he wanted to be polite, and since he didn't know you, and didn't know if you were single or not, opted to give you one rather than asking you if you were single. Usually that's not something a priest would ask, and sounds more like someone wanting to date you would ask. Besides, if you're new he wants to be friendly and nice. And on that note, ignore #4. Church is wonderful.
Your negative mind is making this offensive. If i understand your story correctly he knew that the woman wasn't single and you were standing close to them while he said that. He probably assumed you knew that you had to be single to get a rose since he saw you were within ear range when he explained it to the woman, yet you didn't back up, he didn't know if you were single or not and expected you would refuse if you were. Thankyou! /bow
Go back to English class & learn more about punctuation & sentence structure. Our post gave me a headache
He was probably just giving them out to everyone who seemed depressed.
I am suspicious. I kinda wonder if a priest would really use the term "get any".
Please, please telling you're making a terrible joke... If your not, he was talking about getting any roses... work on your mental perspective there
