Today, the Salvation Army stationed one of their obnoxious bell-ringers in the mall right outside my store. My employees and I can wave goodbye to any form of sanity for the next month. FML

Anyone working in retail in the month of December can kiss sanity goodbye anyway...Christmas shopping brings out the crazy in people quite well

I can only imagine OP walking around the store with those headphones on yelling at the customers, "ARE YOU FINDING EVERYTHING OKAY?!"

Better that little ringing bell than the sounds of gunfire and explosives right outside your door. Move to the Middle East for 6 months then compare the two lifestyles.

You can get that in America too. (reads OP's location) Ok, probably not Canada.

Talk to the mall management. Maybe you could convince them to have the bell ringer move around the mall to different locations each day.

Be thankful for the bell. Last week as we left a wholesale retail store the woman tending to the Salvation Army collection tin was harassing people, not with the bell, but with her words. "HELLO! DON'T YA' HEAR THE BELL!? COME GIVE MONEY HERE!" "HEY, YOU! DON'T LIE TO ME I SEE THE BILLS IN YOUR HAND. YOU DIDN'T USE A BANK CARD". She spoke like that to EVERYONE passing by.

lol I work for a Blood Bank as a phlebotomist. I'm mostly stationed in the mobiles. Sometimes some of our recruiters get like that. Makes me want to cringe.

The bell ringing might be annoying, but it's for a good cause. So I don't think that should mean they're obnoxious.

I agree that it can get annoying hearing it constantly but it is for a good cause. You'll probably learn to just tune it out soon enough. :)

If we give enough, will they stop ringing? Seriously, just tune it out. Yes, it can be annoying, but Salvation Army is a good organization
