Call the police and have them tell that TO the law
actually, they legally have to pay for it if it was a tree on their property and it fell onto your car. especially if you talked to them about it and it was leaning toward your property. I've had to cut down a tree before that was leaning towards my neighbors house in case it fell during a storm
This just happened to me. My tree fell on someones car. Home Ins wont cover it because the car ins. is responsible. However the car owner didnt have car ins. as the car was currently inoperable. But Im not as ass wipe, so I, of course, am paying for the damage out of my own pocket. But your neighbor isnt lying. They arent legally responsible, even if they are morally responsible. But too many people have no morals when it comes to money...
