Today, there was a laundry basket of my clothes sitting in my room. My dad asked me if they were clean or not. When I said I didn't know, he picked up a piece of my clothing, sniffed it, and said it smelled fine. That piece of clothing just so happened to be my underwear. FML

It was your DAD. He probably did this without even thinking that it might look weird. Your parents have seen you naked before and have washed your underwear so many times. They don't care if it's a shirt or your bra. Are we really so full of paranoia that we don't trust our parents anymore?

#13: Agreed. I voted YDI because I think the OP is being dramatic; all the dad did was smell her laundry and tell her it smelled clean. If that's what passed for creepy now, I shake my damn head.

I don't use a dresser, and keep my clean clothes in a basket. Though, I keep another separate for dirty clothes

He probably just grabbed something random and by the time he realized what it was, he had smelled it already. If it was me, I would've apologized, but that makes it more awkward so I can see just ignoring it. I wouldn't worry unless he's shown other signs of creepiness.
