Why wouldn't you have called to confirm your interview or at least to double check due to the weather and reschedule if necessary?
At least you weren't late for the interview...
FYL, but kudos to you for going through all the trouble to show up. If I was the interviewer, I'd take that dedication into serious consideration. Good work. :)
Dedication is nice, but a little common sense would be cool too. The interviewer would be wondering why he didn't simply reschedule if the snow was that bad. It's kind of split here: on one hand, the OP is incredibly serious about this job, but on the other, he didn't really think ahead.
CyclonePsycho, I half agree with you. Dedication is nice, but so is common sense. The interviewer may not be wondering why he didn't reschedule, but he should definitely be wondering why he did not call to confirm. If I were willing to travel to a job interview in a snow storm I wouldn't call them to reschedule, but I would be giving them a phone call to make sure it was still happening despite weather conditions. Businesses of all kind close during storms. On an unrelated but related note, the business really should have phoned interviewees to let them know interviews were being cancelled. It's considerate. Quite frankly, I don't want to work for a company that isn't considerate enough to know my interview had been cancelled.
studentwoes, you're right. I was just speaking from a southerner's point of view, where we shut down everything for as soon as we here the word 'snow'. Denmark is much further up north and is more equipped to deal with blizzards, so calling to confirm instead of rescheduling *would* make more sense. My mistake, haha. The business probably didn't get the chance to make the call to the OP, though.
Even though you had to go through all that waiting and such, I guess luck was on your side in the end? The reason being that the interviewer did not even show up. It would have been worse if you kept him waiting for an hour for you. That probably would have landed you in the "do not hire" list. Hopefully the person who informed you about the interviewer not being there will tell him/her about it.
pig deal
But you gotta give it to the bus/train service in Denmark. It's freakin' awesome. On time, every time. (your television programming kinda sucks, though.) :)
This is amusing because it tells us you didn't call to let them know you were late. If you had, you'd of known this and if the guy actually had been there, there's no way you'd get the job. So ultimately you're saying "FML" for still having an opportunity to get this job. o_0
