Today, three days after finally having a bed to sleep on, I woke up with multiple bedbug bites. I can't use my blankets, wear any of my clothes and it's back to sleeping on the floor for me. FML

Call an exterminator. Same thing happened to my friend and he resolved the problem quickly.

I'm surprised that you managed to get bedbugs that fast. if you live in an apartment that probably means they were either in the apartment before and you just never noticed or someone else in the unit had them and either didn't notify the complex or the complex didn't notify you so that you could take preventative measures. I'm sorry I know that must be really hard because I'm so freaked out by bugs I'd probably be on my second bottle of lorazipam.

That's a great idea: knock yourself out on Ativan and let them feast on you? The itching, which is an allergic reaction, would wake you; even from a drugged sleep. Yes, the itch is horrendous.

Lavender and citronella oils will help repel them. If the infestation gets worse, either find an exterminator or ask your doctor about ivermectin. It's the only known way to poison every last one that bites you.

and that's why you never get a mattress from craigslist

Burn it all to the ground. There's no coming back from this. Just burn it all down and start from scratch.

FYL op, bed bugs are the devils spon, honestly, move if you can, and if you can't, put a matters cover on you bed, and then surround it with double sided tape. It's almost impossible to ever get rid of them %100 because they just relocate and come back.

Biggest problem backpacking is the fear of bedbugs!

Anyone else wondering where the bed came from? New or used?

Also, if they are actually bed bugs...then they have migrated to every part of your room & sleeping on the floor won't help..bed bugs don't ONLY a live on beds.

Bedbugs are notoriously resistant to insecticides, but they can't take heat at all well. Open up the vent in that room only, close the door, stuff towels around it, and crank the heat up for a few hours. Doesn't cost much and is much more effective and less toxic than harsh chemicals.

This is why you never buy furniture from Craigslist.......
