Today, trying to be a good role model for the kids behind me, I stopped and thoroughly checked both sides of the road before crossing. I still managed to get hit by a car. FML

Well, if the car came barreling out of nowhere it's not your fault. Hope you aren't hurt!

And now those kids will be too terrified at the image of someone getting hit by a car that they won't want to cross the street.

Always check the side where the you're stepping into oncoming traffic Last (If traffic goes left, look right then left, then cross)

Well the kids still learned to look both ways!

if you're a women you don't even need to justify.

This is why when I cross a road with traffic that regularly goes very fast I wait for at least one lane to stop for me. I've been hit by a car before- a police car, to be exact. She wasn't looking when I had the right of way. I hope you're okay, you tried your best to be safe and I know how tough it can be when other people aren't trying to be safe.

Don't worry, you can still be used as an example of what not to do

it just shows the children that they will never be safe.

Let's just pray the kids didn't learn anything from what happened...

well obviously people from Victoria can't drive

You did good at showing what not to do... Good job, OP.
