Today, was my birthday. I asked for a camera - nothing fancy, just a basic digital camera. My mother bought my brother a fancy digital camera, with all the accessories, for over £200. She then gave me his old, analogue camera, that I can't get film for anymore. He hates taking photos. FML

Well, I guess that's what you get for not being the favorite. Kinda makes me happy to be an only child.

Put your mother in a home, and then take pictures of her suffering with the analog camera.

Don't be a douche! She probably likes him more for a reason! Don't say put her in a home. **** You! This is why your mother doesnt like you!

Guys, remember that the camera was a hand-me-down of his/her brother's, which is a huge slap in the face because the parents didn't buy him/her ANYTHING for his/her birthday.

film is way better than digital if you want to learn how to do good photography then stop bitching.

usualy I'd say YDI for being an ungratefull bitch and Infact I'm still saying it now. even if this IS real and I doubt it is there was obviously a reason for it that you're not mentioning because you want some sympathy

ain't nothing fancy with accessories that's anywhere near $200. mine was $1400. get it yourself and stop complaining about your parents.

That is the day you learned your brother is the favorite.

1) Its not her brother's birthday so her mom did this to spite her. 2) What good is a camera where you cannot find the film for it? That is telling someone you not only hate them, but they are not important enough to even get a shitty working camera. 3) OP is not being pathetic for wanting a camera. If she had gotten a crappy digital camera because her parents were poor or didn't think she needed one unless she was serious that is one thing. But to have your other sibling get the exact thing you wanted is just spiteful. Obviously the parents had the money and wanted to give one child something. I am sorry OP

@78, 80 You virgin internet dweller don't understand the concept that I've just mentioned huh? Go out more and you'll see the world. When I was a teen I don't remember how many times a bud tell me "a come check this shit out, my gurl took some nude pix" etc. I am only 23 btw. I applaud the mother (hopefully) for being careful with her daughter. Crap reply to the word one, my apology

@87- Don't turn this into a morality issue where the OP is wrong. If that were the fact then her parent needs to be fair on both sides. OP's brother probably has a girlfriend and can use that camera to take pictures of her. If you don't want you daughter taking nude pics then talk to them and explain why you won't get them that. Then get them something else they would enjoy, like a photography book or class where there are teachers helping them. Or maybe a gift card to a clothing store. But do not turn this into the OP's fault. It was not her brother's birthday and the one thing she asked for was not only bought for her brother but then she is given something that doesn't even work. How is that making the mother look morally good? How is that an issue of protecting the child? Ass.
