Not everybody has A/C you no
haha lmao
WOW! O_O
Tell her that it doesn't matter. It goes through the walls anyway.
tell her it'll be ok, the Internet fairies won't let it escape
or better yet, build a wall, set it on fire, and tell her the firewall will protect you internet's security
you could add a password or better for security disable the ssid which can be done by connecting to your wireless router, better name it something you can remember so you can connect to it still while running wifi.
Disabling SSID broadcast doesn't actually help security, as someone can sniff the information easily anyway, and also any device that is set up to connect to a non-broadcast SSID will itself broadcast that SSID (along with login info) any time it is searching for a connection (and will leak that info when you are out of range of your own wireless router). Better to leave it broadcasting, and enable the built-in security (WPA2 > WPA > WEP), use a strong password, and change the SSID to something uncommon (as using a common SSID also allows the bad guys to use shortcuts when cracking it). And either way, if someone wants in and has the knowledge, you aren't stopping them with consumer grade security.
