Today, when I went out to get some groceries with my mother, a small girl came up to me and said I was an "ugly egg" because I'm a bald girl. I had to shave my head in order to have brain surgery to relieve me of the symptoms of my neurological disorder. FML

Today, I had an elderly woman come up to me and tell me how well I pull off the look of being bald. She said that most women can't look attractive without hair. Then she asked me if I had cancer. I had to explain to her that I am, in fact, a man, and I shave my head because I'm a swimmer. FML

Today, I slipped and gashed my head bad enough that my head had to be shaved to be sewn up. Right after it had finished growing back from chemotherapy. FML

Today, I asked my dad to give me a haircut. After 20 minutes of "fuck"s and "shit"s, he gave up and just shaved my head bald. I pull off the look so badly that two people I don't even know have already told me I look like a psychopath. FML

Today, after losing all my hair to chemo, I finally felt brave enough to go out without a wig or a headscarf. I expected some weird looks. I didn’t expect a woman in a store to point to me and tell her daughter, “See what feminism does to women? She’ll never have a husband, I bet!” FML

Today, I decided I wanted to bleach my hair, so I asked my mother for help. Apparently, something went wrong, because clumps of my hair started falling out. Now I'm half blonde and half bald, and my mom is just laughing at me. FML

Today, I was finally confident enough to buzz half my hair off into the style I've wanted since I was young. Turns out that I have a particularly large and angry-looking skin problem across my scalp that may well have been there for years. It'll take months to grow back. FML

Lil kids can say the most rude things and parents never say anything to correct them it's awkward and you feel like crap when it happens to you cause you can't really do anything about it. There just a "kid" right?

Kids always speak what's on their mind, and usually it's a hurtful truth. However, I am wondering where the kid's parents were when this was said. I hope they taught that kid what is and isn't acceptable to say to others. Of course, knowing parents these days, that might be hoping for too much.

Like others are saying, don't take it personally. Most kids wouldn't understand your situation and say things even when they're not true. The kid could have heard the expression from someone else. Also, mental health is very important and serious, and doing what you had to do was the right thing even if it meant making sacrifices. Your hair will grow back. And no matter what people say, you're beautiful inside and out, OP.
