I hope you learned your lesson. Your Boss is probably still laughing. If a customer insists you keep the money.
So OP should risk losing their job because a customer is very pushy and their boss is a douchebag? Doesn't seem like a very good lesson to me.
Just curious, what kind of company doesn't allow you to take tips?
I once found $20bucks on the ground asked my manager what the policy was when you find money. He asked if it was anybody's in the store and I asked the only customer there if they had lost any money and they said no. My manager then told me "I'll let you keep it if you give me half." I said no deal and kept it all. Next time I guess you'll think twice before you open your mouth.
Because some businesses fire staff if they receive tips, and any tip they receive must be reported, or they will instantly lose their job.
