Today, while at work, a customer gave me a $20 tip. I explained to him we aren't allowed to accept tips, but he insisted. When I called the manager to report it, he pocketed my tip. FML

why did the op deserve it? the open just didn't want to get in shit for accepting it if it wasn't allowed

Op, the manager probably took it because you said you wouldn't and didn't want to insult the customer. Making a scene like that isn't cool. You should have taken the tip and then told the manager about it if you were worried instead of making a scene. That is not good service.

It's free money, if I were you I would of kept it

You called the manager to report someone giving you money...what's wrong with this picture...

I work at Walmart and if a customer insists on tipping after I've gone totally out of my way to help them, and they put the tip on the counter and leave quickly, you have no choice but to let a manager know. I've been in the situation before and been told to use it as a donation to whatever charity we are fundraising for at the time.

That's when I'd have called HR or someone above my manager & let them know of the fuckery my manager just pulled....who knows, you could become the *new* manager...lol
