That seems to be occurring more frequently as of late on modern vehicles, especially those with panoramic sunroofs. Experts believe that it's due to thermal stress over the large glass area and fatigue from the torsion of the vehicle body. Still sucks for you though no matter the reason. Hopefully it's covered under your warranty if you have one.
