You should've rolled down the hill. It's the more entertaining way to travel on unleveled ground :D
Why the heck did u hav flip flops on in the first place??
Hey everyone :) I'm actually the one that posted this FML. I didn't even know it had gotten so many comments :P I just randomly remembered this today and decided to see whatever happened to it. So just to clarify: - It was summer. In Canada (and maybe other places in the world too, I'm only going to speak for Canada because that's where I live) most mountains are open during summer for hiking, biking, for tourists to see the view, etc. So it was not snowing and it was not cold and NO ONE WAS SKIING. - I was hanging out with some friends from out of town and they wanted to go to the mountain just to walk around at the top and see the view. It was Grouse Mountain for all the people who were guessing. For simply walking around and seeing the view, I didn't think wearing flip-flops would be a big deal. I realize now that this was a bad decision and yes I could have worn better shoes. - So at Grouse Mountain there is a gondola to take you up and then a ski lift that takes you to a higher point. It was on the ski lift that I dropped the ticket. And me and my friend were going on the ski-lift just for fun. At the top of the ski lift the guy let me go down but then at the gondola they wouldn't let me. This is because many people hike or bike up the mountain and they can't just let you go down without a ticket because then anyone could get a free ride down. So then I went back to the ski lift and hiked up there trying to find my ticket but I couldn't and we didn't have enough money to buy another ticket so I had to hike down the mountain. I probably would have looked around the ski lift area some more for my ticket but it was getting late. - Looking back, it wasn't that bad. One of my friends had come with me and we'd had a pretty fun time, but when I came home I was tired as hell and my feet were a bloody mess and that's when I wrote this FML. I hope this clears up some things. I just wanted to say thank you to the people who thought it was snowing in July, you really gave me a good laugh. Also thanks to all the people who realized people don't go to mountains in summer to ski, it was nice to have people defend me. If anyone has any questions, just ask :) I guess my FML was pretty vague and it had made sense to me but now I see how people from other places in the world may misinterpret it.
You only need the pass to get down...
Why were you on the mountain in flip flood anyways?
Wait, you need a ticket to go down the mountain? Wouldn't it work a lot better and prevent incidents like this if they took tickets BEFORE you got on the lift instead of after? That's a broken system right there.
even if you were just hiking that doesn't explain why you would have flip flops. YDI to the max for wearing the wrong shoes for the occasion

Why are you in flip-flops on a ski lift in the first place?
If you're going to be on a mountain, you shouldn't be wearing flip-flops. End of discussion.
