Today, while my 18 pound cat was on the edge of the tub watching me shower, he fell in. Apparently, in his mind, the best way to get away from the water is to climb my bare legs. FML

Your cat was watching you shower? What a creep. Tell him he has to pay for his voyeuristic tendencies or get out.

A word of advice for all you folks who like to have your cats in the bathroom with you: Cats hate water. Naked people hate being clawed. Bathrooms have both water and naked people. When you add cat to the mix, you're asking for trouble. The solution? Don't let your cat in the bathroom. Especially. when. you. are. naked.

My puppy followes me everywhere. She tried to get in the shower or tub with me if the bathroom door is open.

my cat loves to lie on the bathroom floor/under the shelves. I don't allways see him there, so I do understand what the cat was doing in the bathroom. But why didn't you get out of the shower and let him out?

YDI for letting your cat get so fat.

Just what I was going to say. Even big cats like Maine Coons shouldn't way that much, so you have no excuse.

Male Maine coons can get up to 25 lbs. That is a healthy weight for Maine coons. My vet has one who is the clinic pet and he weighs 20 lbs which is healthy.

ouch, you have a really fat cat which probably didn't help

"Leo's veterinarian stresses the point that his frame is big enough to carry this much weight and that 35 pounds is a good, healthy weight for Leo, emphasizing that he is not overweight. Leo’s length – and not weight – is what makes him a record breaker." http://www.verismocat.com/htmscripts/leo-guinness.htm "Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. Males commonly weigh 13 to 18 lbs" http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?aid=2025 Google before you post

#55: Ouch, your poor spelling hurts my eyes.

Maine Coons aren't the only large breed of domestic cat. The Norwegian Forest Cat is much larger, if I'm not mistaken, and let's not forget the Savannah (though that's cheating lol).

Yea he was just trying to make a point though. There are tons of large breeds of cats, and that person was saying that large breeds should not weigh that much apparently?

18 pounds? Poor cat. YDI for not taking proper care of your kitty.

Why would you let your cat sit on the edge of the tub while you shower? That's just asking for trouble. YDI
