Today, while on my way to the movies, I stopped at a gas station to pick up candy so I could avoid the high prices at the movies. The guy who tore my ticket asked for my purse, confiscated my candy, and then kicked me out of the movie theater. That guy was my boyfriend. FML

Wow what an ass. Maybe he was angry because you were going to the movies without him?

Some rules are just meant to be broken.

Isn't it some kind of violation of privacy to search a woman's purse?

It's one of those annoying legal loopholes. They're allowed to ask to search a bag, and they're allowed to kick a person out for refusing. So TECHNICALLY it is up to the patron whether or not they agree to it. It isn't considered a violation of privacy (legally, that is) because TECHNICALLY the patron agrees with the search to begin with.

If I ware him i will get u in rge movie without ticket!

Think about it this way: he probably wanted to feed you 'his own canDy' ;)

Legally they can't confiscate your purse unless they are a police officer. I would go to the manager and complain, if they try to make a stink, say you'll go to the cops, and dump your bf btw. And I am taking criminal justice classes and have lawyers in the family so I do know what I'm talking about

They didn't confiscate it. They do have a right to search it.

What a dick. I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Nobody can search your person, or personal belongings.

That is wrong. If they have suspicion they can ask to search your bag and have every right deny you entrance if you refuse, they can also ask randomly. People try to bootleg movies as well.

92, Unless you're living under totalitarian dictatorship, they don't have the right to search your bag, unless they're police. However, on behalf on property owners, they can refuse to let you in for absolutely no reason. They can also ask nicely to show content of your bag. But they still won't have the right to search it.
