so? a recovering alcoholic can't be a DD??
#24.... actually mormons can drink coke and have caffeine.... they cannot however have coffee or tea of any kind.... if u were mormon u would know this..... and as for the guy out with his friends he didnt have to be so rude when op was just trying to be friendly.
My friend who is Mormon says they are not supposed to have caffeine as it is considered to be a drug. That means coke and other sodas with caffeine, coffee, and teas that are not decaf are off limits. (Many teas do not have caffeine, such a chamomile tea)
u just cant talk bad about ppl unless ur ready for a responce like this
I don't see the problem. I wouldn't have stressed. i wouldve said, "So you ARE the DD then." and made him look stupid haha
I'm mormon.... Personally i don't drink sodas. But my religion has nothing to do with that choice. I was born and raised in Utah, and about 95% of mormons drink Coke, Pepsi, or some other caffeinated drink. We aren't supposed to drink any kind of Coffee or Tea ( herbal teas are ok, but most mormons just make it simple and avoid all teas) so there you have it. right from a mormon's keyboard: Sodas: ok Coffee: No way Tea: a no go, unless its herbal Chocolate: Gotta have it. ( alright so i threw this one in, but it has caffeine too.)
wow yu bitch...... just shut the **** up and dont open yur big mouth..... js =/

While I agree that you need to be careful how you joke with customers, in this context I don't find OP's comment that uncalled for.. It is normal to try to build up a good rapport with customers, because they are more likely to come back, and in a casual bar/restaurant this would be pretty common. Also you wouldn't really expect a recovering alcoholic to surround himself with people drinking a lot of wine. If it was that big of a deal for him why is he putting himself in that situation to begin with? Regardless, don't worry about it OP, this shit happens and the world needs to lighten up a bit :P
Oh well, you didn't know.
