Depending on the drug, yes you can give refills--even a full months worth(think birth control where the pack cannot be broken). They can at least give a few days worth and wait for the doctor to approve the full amount.

When the law-abiding citizens can't defend themselves, the criminals can prey on them at will. America has a high rate of gun crime because we have such a high population and a large number of guns already in circulation. You know who commits all those gun crimes? The criminals! However, armed citizens defend their lives and prevent crimes daily simply by carrying guns.

The reason the gun violence is high is, because of the amount of people that carry guns. Where I live the gun violence isn't that high, because its illegal to own a gun. You don't need a gun to defend yourself. There are alot of other ways to do that. You're saying that the more people live in a country the higher the gun violence. The reason why China doesn't have a lot of gun crime is because there are not a lot of guns in circulation. China is a totalitarian state. The easiest way for a government to subjugate its people is by disarming them. Look at Mao's China, the USSR, and Nazi Germany. And there are other ways to defend yourself from someone with a gun? Please. That is ridiculous. Of course, you've probably never seen a gun in person, so it's not your fault you're ignorant. A gun is an equalizer for the common individual against a predatory criminal or an oppressive regime. Owning a gun for self-defense isn't about taking the law into your own hands- it's about taking your LIFE into your own hands.

That's a dumb way to think about it because you're not taking into account the fact that criminals will always find a way to obtain weapons, legally or illegally. Whether people are allowed to carry guns affects only whether the average civilian will have a way to protect themselves. This works in 2 ways - 1, obviously they can use the gun if they need to, and 2, it acts as a deterrent for would be criminals, since they know everybody's got a gun.
