Today, whilst on a phone interview with a college I really want to go to, my mother picks up the other line and shouts into the phone "She's not going to college, she's lazy and she'll only disappoint you." The interviewer hung up before I could say anything. FML

Your mother is down right nasty. She probably doesn't want u to leave home so she thought she would sabotage your chances. Separation anxiety is difficult for some to deal with

The irony in all of this is that, had OP been allotted this chance to prove herself and go to college or whatever opportunity she was presented with, the mother would have been better off. OP will inevitably have more pull than the average high school grad and be able to work somewhere other than the local Mickey D's or what have you. But the mom didn't look at that either, selfish whorecunt that she is. :/
