Truancy

Today, I had to go to my daughter's school because she hasn't been going to class. Her teacher seemed surprised to see me with my husband when we arrived. Apparently I "died" recently and my daughter has had extra responsibility around the house, hence why she doesn't come to class. FML

I'm trying to picture the look on the teachers face.

Like that was never going to catch up with her........

I think that as part of her punishment, the daughter should have to continue those "extra responsibilities" around the house - except they should be genuine household responsibilities: cooking, cleaning, laundry, yard work, etc.

As somebody who has gone through the loss of a parent recently(almost seven months). I was in high school when it happened (college now), teachers were great but it was LEGIT. What would possess somebody to lie about death?! I would make her do the "extra responsibilities" around the house and go to school. I had somebody lie about somebody being on death' bed recently, they won't do it again because needless to say I was pissed.

What a crafty daughter you have there. Although it probably would have worked out better if she'd chosen a less flawed approach. Was she counting on no one noticing a supposed zombie walking around?

Oooh, somebody gonna get a hurt real bad.

Nowadays parents don't discipline their kids, let alone "hurt" them anymore. Children services will be there faster then a fly on crap. Or the child will fight back. New generation doesn't know what a good ass whooping' is. They'd have to google it. No one disciplines their children anymore. They're either afraid to , or just plain lazy. TRUE STORY.

I'm wondering how the teacher reacted when she saw that OP was alive. I don't get why people will kill off parents to not do something.

Bad on the daughter but not surprising. How can you tell when a teenager is lying? Their lips are moving...:-)

lol OP. My brother did something similar to this with my mother. Parent teacher conference came along and my mother was asked how far along she was with her new edition. Confused, my mother asked what the teacher was talking about. Apparently my brother lied and told the teacher my mother was pregnant and needed extra help from him until "Mackenzie" came. 0.o haha, kids are too funny with their imaginations & lies.
