Today, I showed up at my boyfriend's work to surprise him by speaking in Spanish, his first language. I've been taking classes secretly. He smiled, kissed me, and then finished telling his friend, in Spanish, that I'm boring and ugly but he's got nothing better going on. FML

Today, I introduced my Spanish friend to a girl I've had a crush on for a long time. Because he only spoke Spanish and she only spoke English, I was the translator. The first thing he said to her was, "You are really pretty." I translated it as "I like other men." Later, they found out. FML

Today, while on a vacation, I tried to step out of myself and flirt with this boy who I thought was cute. He was going along with it and nodding so I thought it was working. Then he opened his mouth and I realized he didn't speak English. FML

It always amazes me that no matter the FML story there are always a least a couple hundred people that blame the OP. Anyway, your bf is a jackass. He's also a complete moron to think you wouldn't know what "ugly" is in Spanish, that's a very basic word.

@32; The only reason people blame the OP in these situations is because clearly, this guy is a complete douche bag, and the OP should've known better. If he really felt that way, one can be pretty sure that this explicit statement of his feelings wasn't the first sign that he was an ass/using her. Agreed with everyone though, if OP doesn't dump his ass immediately, she deserves it even more~

Well, while I agree that this guy was indeed an asshole, I have to admit that I agree with #37 to some extent. How does someone NOT know better? BUT maybe they weren't together very long and maybe he's a good liar/charmer.
