And what happened after you stole them? Did he accuse someone else and lose that friendship? Did he go home and tell his parents that he lost them and get his ass beat? There are probably more reasons for him cutting you off because you stole some stupid markers.
To you it maybe funny, but to him that was probably the first really cool thing his parents got him as it is for most kids whether it's scented markers, glow him the dark markers, your first box of colored pencils, etc.. Also the FML says you "jokingly told him" so did you seriously take them or were you just messing with him?
On case none of you geniuses haven't figured out, he was JOKING. I doubt he stole them and all, and now his friend thinks OP wasn't joking and is angry at him now. A simple misunderstanding.
Someone obviously hasn't grown up yet.
How could you a mans markers is a mans pride! Lol sorry op
Never joke about these kinds of things.
Your friend sounds very immature OP. If it was a joke, he should laugh and move on. You don't need someone like that in your life anyway. Besides, it was like 12 years ago, and just markers, even if they were glow in the dark. Can you imagine if you actually did something to really piss your friend off?
Not saying OP really did steal them, but look at it from the other dude's point of view. In kindergarten something like those markers would have been a prized possession and something of a status symbol. Would you want to be friends with someone that could potentially steal your valuable/important possessions? That's pretty much the only reason I could think he would do that.
#26 I was about to say the same thing! lol. Then I read your comment and was like, damn they beat me to it. Lol.
Some people don't realise how a big of a deal things like, markers, crayons, pens, etc. were. And some parents do overreact when their kids lose them. OP should apologise and tell his friend he was joking and he thought since it's been so long, they could laugh about it.
What FML is this to? o.O

You monster!
Go buy him some new ones as an apologetic gesture. No one should joke like that about glow in the dark markers. No one.
