I moved from NZ to Australia when I was 10 and everybody thought I was English. I feel your pain. It sounds so foreign to them, but they will get over it. I ended losing my accent and now everybody thinks I'm Aussie, which makes me a little sad. I still slip into a bit of a kiwi accent when I'm around lots of kiwis or if I'm tired.
