I've experienced the same thing. It might be annoying at first OP but try to use it to your advantage to get to know people. You'll be thankful for your uniqueness down the road I promise!

Maybe you can teach many of us Americans to stop leaving out half of the word "doughnut" Thank goodness I'm set straight on some things that differ from here and England.

You're the new kid. You can't expect everyone to instantly be best friends with you. Talking about your accent and where you're from is a good ice breaker, and hopefully small talk will eventually lead to more meaningful conversation.

#28 in London theres over 100 or something crazy like that, south londoners are different to north londoners for example and even then theres different versions of a south london accent like the posh one and the ghetto one, its crazy man
