Wait, what?

Today, a customer said the pants she was buying rang up more than advertised. I quietly told her plus-sizes were not on sale. The customer yelled in front of a whole line of people, "So I'm fat and can't read! Any other insults you'd like to throw at me?" and stormed out of the store. FML

Tell her she has anger management issues and is acting like a child. She literally asked for it.

do you happen to work at an old navy store because they are getting crap for that same thing

I was so gonna say you must work at Old Navy

I guess it's a popular misconception that all fat people are jolly...

It's not your fault, you didn't decide what was on sale

It's unfortunate people feel entitled to be pricks when they're at fault.

While I do find it somewhat rude that plus sizes wouldn't be included, that's certainly not your fault OP. And you even took the effort to say it quietly, so you were obviously trying to be discreet and not make her feel uncomfortable. Makes me wonder if she knew they weren't on sale and was looking for a fight...

Isn't it discriminating that the same merchandise for plus size weren't on sale though? makes me a bit angry.

Look at it from a business standpoint. More material used = more money spent on the product. I however, would rather have a happy customer vs. saving a few cents.

i get that more material used = more money. but how does one figure which becomes plus size? i know that theres a norm and usually anything bigger than an xl cost more. but a large is more material than an extra small? just silly to me

it's based on the usability of fabric. A measure of fabric can make 1 large and 1 small, 2 mediums, or one xs and one xl. when you start going to xx,xxx, xxxx, xxxxxx you're getting 1 shirt, OR EVEN LESS from the same fabric, that is why they cost more.

The reason they cost more is because a whole new pattern has to be created in order to make the damn pants.

I understand that larger sizes use more fabric, but if the pants are the same price to start with, I don't see the difference. Also, when stores have sales, aren't they the ones that eat the cost of the sale, not the manufacturer?

often plus sized clothing costs more than their regular counterpart

It's not discriminatory. Why do people condone being overweight and sympathizing with them? I understand some people have a disorder, but most people are just flat out lazy; that doesn't deserve rewarding

asking for a sale on plus sized clothing along with other sizes is condoning being overweight? Really?
