Wait, what?

Today, a customer said the pants she was buying rang up more than advertised. I quietly told her plus-sizes were not on sale. The customer yelled in front of a whole line of people, "So I'm fat and can't read! Any other insults you'd like to throw at me?" and stormed out of the store. FML

Tell her she has anger management issues and is acting like a child. She literally asked for it.

You was only telling the truth so it not your fault..."SHE CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!" Apparently ...

Well you handled that the best you could I would think...at least the manager wasn't brought into the situation...

Sometimes the truth shall set one free, sometimes it hurts. Well that costumer was on the latter. You handled it well OP.

You need to be as vague as possible when talking to customers, especially in a car like this. Next time, say that those pants aren't on sale. Sorry, OP.

not like it's your fault she's too fat and lazy to lose weight lol

This whole situation was funny, from both sides. Dont take it personally, truth is she probably hates herself and thats why she lashed out.

i think its stupid to get mad at something like that. If McDonalds has a sale for a plain, dry quarter pounder with cheese are they expected to have a sale on big macs too? stores have a right to determine which products go on sale and which dont.

Im sorry OP, she needs to understand that it takes more material to build pants for her size, therefore thamey can not be on sale!

I hate customers that act like this. It's not the employees faults that the prices and sales are like that. I get people like this at my work all the time. Unfortunately you just have to be patient and nod your head and apologize or agree with them, because you know "the customer is always right". Even though sometimes you really wanna smack them upside the head and scream at them to get out of your face. But this is also the beauty of working with the public, you gotta deal with the shit head people out there.

She was wrong in this case. not ops fault the pants weren't on sale, but it left me wondering if the pants she wanted to buy were somehow on the wrong rack or if the sale sign was misleading. if that were me I'd be double checking the sale sign. however whether I'm right or wrong in a sale situation i wouldn't get crazy like that!
