You cannot generally help insomnia when it strikes, but you can choose what you watch… But I think I might understand. For me when I have insomnia, I intentionally watch things that are Interesting enough to get my attention, but not so engrossing that it won’t keep me from dozing off. For me, my “go to” programming is either an old monster movie or “How it’s Made” on the Science channel.
I can 1000% relate to this - it just happened to me last night! Go to bed early, wake up in the middle of the night, do *something* to fall back asleep, stay up for hours. For me, that something is usually scrolling Reddit, which doesn’t put me to sleep for some reason lol. I’ve found that the best thing is to rewatch a feel-good show I’ve already watched and know and love - Adventure Time, The Office, silly stuff. Out like a light. I guess we could also just close our eyes and avoid all visual stimulation until we fall back asleep naturally...but come on that’s preposterous!
