Waxing and waning

Today, I went to the doctor's to get a checkup. When the nurse stuck the Otoscope into my ear to look, she was disgusted. When she pulled it out, she told me that I had an ear infection, and that she'd popped a pimple in there by mistake. FML

there was a product invented in 1926 you may have heard of ??? Qtips ... people use them to clean their ears . recommened to use at least once a day . try it out maybe you wont have the same problem again .

Actually, if you look at the packaging, it states quite clearly not to put the Q Tip inside the ear canal. It can actually push ear wax further down the ear canal and cause it to become impacted, and people have perforated their ear drums with them as well. Bullets don't kill people...Q Tips kill people. That shit is dangerous!

just because you have an ear infection doesnt mean youre dirty. i got an ear infection once before because i got too much water in my ears when i was bathing. shit happens! its called "the human body". OP: fyl for the embarassment, but dont feel too bad.

Actually, they're no longer recommended for cleaning ears (check the package). This went into affect years ago when someone destroyed their eardrum with one and sued the makers.

#1. Everyone saying this kid is dirty is stupid. an ear infection is usually a complication from a cold. Your ears, nose, and throat are connected. Think about it. #2. Q-tips are bad! Yes, everyone uses them but it doesn't mean it's a good idea. It even says so on the box! All you're really doing is pushing your wax farther into the canal causing more problems. #3. Since when does a nurse check your ears during a physical?

It doesn't say physical, it says checkup. They check your ears in a checkup.

A checkup consists of a medical history revision and a physical examination, friend. I'm thinking the "nurse" in the story was a nurse practitioner, for those wondering why a nurse was doing the ear exam. They often work in primary care physicians' offices doing physicals and other routine maintenance, like rotating tires and changing oil.
