We need to talk…

Today, I took a look at my 9-year-old daughter's diary, thinking it would be full of cute stuff. Instead, it was full of hateful rants against me and my husband, as well the boys at her school, who she called gay because none of them ever hit on her. It seems I've failed as a parent. FML

Yes OP you have failed as a parent for reading your 9 year old child's diary.

the first thing that came to mind was the movie "orphan" ....

I think you need to get her some therapy.

YDI for reading someone else diary but also FYL because your daughter hates you. Sorry OP but also shame on you.

Why would you read her diary in the first place?

Don't read her damned diary, that's where you failed

YDI, sorry but you shouldn't read her diary XD

You deserved it. You're a failure as a parent based on saying that you think you're a failure as a parent, not based on what you read in your daughter's diary. How could you think your daughter is a failure just because of something she personally thought? This is completely wrong.

I've kept a diary since I was seven. how is keeping a private personal record of your OWN life against household laws? shouldn't have read it. I have quite a strict mother and never has she snooped in my room nor my personal belongings. that just shows a lack of communication and trust along with family structure bonds if this is that way it's looked at to have the right to read your daughters diary. I'm sixteen ._.

Why would you invade your child's diary that's low

Some children won't say what bothers them for many reasons. One may be that they want their parents happiness over there own
