You're a complete idiot. Many of the men that you claimed "established the world as we know it" actually had a lot (and I do mean a LOT) of back stage help from women. Men just took all the credit. Furthermore, this backwards history of yours is really only a sort of recent thing, like the last thousand years (give or take). Traditional and ancient human societies actually treated women equally and saw their ability to rear children as more important than ANY job a man could do. Furthermore, many ancient societies worshiped feminine deities just as much, and sometimes more so, as male deities. These women were actually considered equal to men, and in some societies, actually carried out the same tasks. Even in modern times, the woman has been considered important. If you think about it, even in the most sexist of cultures, the woman's ability to care for and nurture the children and home are almost sacred, more so than any man's job. Another history lesson: in world war II, woman were so essential to the work force, that I believe (if my history is correct) that towards it's end, women made up maybe more than half of it. And, for the record, that era spawned a slew of economic, political and social changes that make "the world as we know it" today. Women have always played a part in politics, economy and social structure, but it has mostly been behind the scenes. Many economies and societies are actually built on the backs of women. Also, to everyone else, I know that people shouldn't take all of what is put on here seriously. But I just hate people that say stupid crap like that. And, fyl OP. And your poor dogs, lol.

I love watching how mental people get over a bit of sexism. I'm sure most of them weren't being serious, so no need to explode over the subject. Deep breaths ladies.

I dont get why people are confused over whats happening in this FML. The OP was looking forward to a meal being cooked for her, Im guessing her partner was off work for a change during the working week or she was visiting her parents, and when she got home the house was flooded. The dog was cowering because either the dog caused the accident by knocking a pipe (not sure if its cold enough for frozen pipes in texas) or the dog is scared of the water. She was handed a mop to help clean up the flood. No sexist connotations No animal cruelty No ungrateful woman not wanting to help clean. No ungrateful man wanting her to clean on her own. Its simply an FML because of a flooded house and a ruined evening.

What is with everyone? Here's a tip; Just. Don't. Listen. If you are that dead set on someone being wrong just ignore them! It's a crazy concept I know, but seriously? Actually dignifying his comment with a response is just giving him what he wants. Just ignore it, say gee the FML was funny/sucky/boring and move on with you're daily life. p.s. Woman were that much of the work force because most men from ages 18 to 30 were fighting a war. Not saying women aren't important because I know they are, just saying there is an obvious reason behind it.
