Today, while looking through my son's browser history, I found a Google search for "stop looking in my history u nosey cunt". I swore last week that I don't invade his privacy, so I can't even punish him for the bad language without looking like a lying bastard. FML

Multiple things. You are a snoop. No one likes that. He obviously has a problem with it and you are bad as you have been caught... Twice... First time you had to promise, second time he did that. He already knows you still do it if he searched that. Also, all the things he doesn't want you to see, you won't see, as he definitely knows incognito mode. Either that or he uses a different browser or a different search engine. My mother did this to me I I lost all respect. I don't even search any thing on my comp. (my phones for that) Also, everyone is talking about parental controls, but 2 things. 1, he will know how to take them off 2 if it's his computer, that means his account is admin, meaning that you won even be able to turn them on without him knowing in the first place. Your kid is smart, an knows he will get away with it. He wins and you lost. You are over protective. "Oh god he watches ****!!!" So what, he probably started years ago, and you won't be able to change that. You shouldn't be trying to control who he is. A parents job is to control, but not over control, even on the stuff they can't. You should be more focused in keeping him doing well in school, off drugs, and happy. Punish him for being disrespectful but not for that, you brought that on yourself for breaking your own rules. You are a snoop , a hypocrite and deserve what happened, and should be happy he has the ability to pull of this complicated of a plan to get back at you.

My mom always told me she can see everything I do online to stop me from doing anything inappropriate. Every once in while maybe she would check what I was doing, but I think she trusted me for the most part. If you're gonna be digging through your kid's stuff, at least be honest to them about it.

For all the people saying that the OP did nothing wrong will then wonder why their kids if they have them in the future don't trust them, don't tell them anything and why they rarely visit or interact with you.
