What have you been up to?

Today, after thinking I smelled the aroma of stale alcohol, I asked my husband, who is a recovering alcoholic, if he has been completely honest with me about all that he has been doing. Bracing myself to hear about his fall off the wagon, I instead heard a confession of adultery. FML

it's better than falling off the wagon and committing murder. or maybe you'd prefer him to do tht instead of cheating on you and screwing y'all's vows. or in this case, the bartender.

Heartbreaking. He must b drinking too if u smelt it. you didn't think he'd cheat and he did that. R u leaving him?

@hassenpfeffermmm - He wasn't necessarily drinking, the person he cheated on her with could have been horrendously drunk and she smelt the effects of that. He could have been sober during it (which would be a hell of a lot worse). Granted it's unlikely, but it's possible. @OP - Where cheating is concerned I don't see why you should give him (or anyone) a second chance. However the alcoholism might have affected him more than you realise, but it doesn't necessarily change anything. If you tried to support him through his alcoholism, and this is how he repays you, then he almost definately isn't worth it.

Wow that truely sucks. I bet you feel like you've been stabbed in the heart. You probably stuck through his drinking problems and feel totally betrayed. Marriage may not last forever but some STD do so Good luck.

hahaha! I know that's expecting a lot. Just lower your expectations girls.

Or, instead of lowering our expectations, men can start being smart and stop cheating on their significant others. Break up with her if you don't want to be with her, it's as simple as that. If men really loved us, they wouldn't cheat. Simple as that.

apparently he fell off of someone else's wagon

ydi your probably the one who drove him to alcoholism and then you wanted him to stop so he then started to commit adultery because you won't just let him be himself

That's a terrible accusation to make.
