Well that's taking the piss....
It isn't necessarily the medication. People tend to attribute anything that happens to them while taking a new medication to the medication. See a doctor.
If your meds aren't helping you, talk to your doctor. I was on anti-depressants for years and they did nothing. Finally, my current doctor (who is amazing) figured out I had anxiety, not depression and changed my meds. I feel much better. Unfortunately, illness like depression and anxiety don't just go away. Sure, therapy (especially cognitive therapy) can help a lot and for some people herbal supplements work. But depression and anxiety are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. Meds can drastically improve the quality of life of someone with depression or anxiety. Provided you're on the right medication. If a med isn't working for you, for whatever reason, talk to your doctor.
I tried a fairly new anti-depressant, an SNRI, and unfortunately I had most of its side effects, one of them being yours. I generally tolerate medications reasonably well, but after a couple of days of wonderful results, the side effects weren't worth it. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking it :( I do hope you find some relief. Hope your doctor can steer you in the right direction. Good luck!
Let your doctor know that asap.
well do you wanna be or to not be depressed?
Natural anti-depressants have unwanted side effects too. Because they're not a substitute for anti-depressants, they ARE anti-depressants. And sometimes, very ineffective ones. For example, go take some St. John's Wort and try to stay out in the sun. And then come back and tell me how that went... if you aren't in too much pain. Actually, don't go out in the sun, it's a bad idea.
As someone who suffers from pretty bad, crippling depression, I'm gonna say you're right, actually. While clinical depression is definitely a thing, there's no coincidence that it strikes people in unhappy situations more frequently than people in happy situations. (That isn't to say that depression should be taken less seriously just because the person is affluent)
Anti-depressants will also cause you to gain weight which causes you to feel depressed. The circle of meds.
As you said, there's CLINICAL depression. Depression runs in my family, including my separated parents. Not to mention a lot of times you can't change what's making it worse or causing it. I'd love to have money and not be struggling to survive, but I can't really magically get money.

Well, on the bright side, you can devote all that time spent not peeing to being not depressed :D But seriously, call your doctor ASAP. Anti-depressants can have all sorts of weird side effects; I took one that made me forget an entire day. I aced a test, attended and participated in several classes, and finished two major homework assignments, but when I woke up the next morning I thought it was still Monday.
Same happened here. Only, it wouldn't let me doo doo. Change meds, asap. Good luck, OP.
