What's going on?

Today, my neighbour from across the road phoned me at work telling me there was a fire engine outside my house and a lot of smoke. I drove home in a panic, smashing a rear light on a post and getting flashed by a speed camera. It wasn't my house. The firemen were putting out a bonfire next door. FML

Why would you rush home when the firefighters are already there and there is nothing you can do? As far as running the red light goes, you deserved the ticket for being stupid.

Well, if you hear your house might be on fire, what would your first reaction be? Calmly drive home and see what happened? She might've overreacted some, but I can understand why. FYL, OP.

Hey at least it is not your house, you can easily pay the ticket and fix the light. But it is kinda harder to buy another house! So that's good news.

Drive carefully... YDI for putting other lives in danger, i mean.. how much good can you do anyway putting a fire in your house out if the fire dept is already there? and even more, how much good could you do if you ran a red light, hit a car and then died?

... because if you don't get home fast enough, it will somehow affect the outcome of the firefighters' efforts to stop the blaze? Idiot. Seriously, what difference would it make if your house was burning and you got back two minutes sooner?

maybe she had family she was worried about being injured or dead. i would have paniced also

what was you getting there faster going to do? its not like homes that are on fire say to themselves "my owner is in my midst, I think ill burn more slowly or stop burning all together, just for her." some people...

Dump him and watch the movie think like a man or get the book girl

At least the neighbours were trying to be helpful...
