Why would I do that to me?

Today, I called the police to report that my car had been keyed. I remember going to a bar last night and getting drunk. A surveillance camera revealed that after my drunken self couldn't unlock the door to my car, I punched the door and hurt my fist so bad that I keyed my own car. FML

All though OP clearly deserved it, I find it interesting at how a few people that do consume alcohol try to act like saints of never doing anything stupid with some of the judgmental comments in this fml that go deeper than the drinking and driving situation. I admit drinking and driving is one of those stupid choices you just don't do no matter if you were drinking responsibly by not getting that smashed or drinking irresponsibly by getting that smashed or worse in general. Mostly everyone knows that but I highly doubt OP is not the only person to have done / attempted something stupid for drinking too much. A person who drinks and tries to claim other wise for never doing or never attempted something stupid at least once from drinking too much is full of shit. You might not have gone as far as driving drunk or trying to drive drunk but you have done or tried something on a lower scale of stupidity from drinking too much (like trying to do a cart wheel when you can't really walk and hurt yourself in the process as an example) at least once. I'm not implying that everyone is a irresponsible drinker, all i'm saying is even the responsible drinker has done / tried something stupid (especially when they were learning their limit the first time from starting to drink or had that one time when they didn't watch the number of drinks they consumed). No one is a complete saint from never doing / attempting stupid shit when drinking. Judge him on his poor choice but dont act innocent at the same time for never doing stupid shit while drinking just because you didn't have the same mind set to do or try drinking and driving.

I drink alcohol on occasion but I have never been drunk since I know what MODERATION is. So no, I have never done any stupid shit after drinking

You seriously called the police for your car getting keyed? They've got bigger things to worry about and even if someone else keyed your car there's like no chance they would've caught the person that did it.

I feel that I should point out that just because OP was trying to get into the car, it doesn't necessarily mean that he was going to drive. Maybe he was trying to get something out of the car, or maybe he was going to sleep in it. People just seem to love jumping to conclusions.
