You should probably report what you heard to the police. That sounds like someone could have been in danger. Whether it be rape or murder. The average person walks past 16 murderers in their lifetime. Better to be safe than sorry so please report this to the police so they can look into it. If nothing is found then great! But if there is something found, someone dead in the woods, your report could help put the person responsible behind bars so they'd be unable to do that to anyone else.
This is basically what I was going to post (except the 16 murderers statistic which I didn’t know...wow interesting and creepy). I definitely second everything, and it’s still not too late to report. Someone could be hurt or hurting or you could even be helping solve a crime. As far as you, I’m sorry that happened to you and you no longer feel safe walking your dogs :( Maybe find another area to walk them, and/or let loved ones know when and where you’re walking them and tell them when you’re done, so they know you’re safe. But, again, call the authorities, OP. Hopefully it was just a wounded animal like you thought, but you could also be helping someone.
well lets hope it was joyous screams and you startled them into silence
Sounds like you startled some people having sexy times. Let's hope it was consensual sexy times. And that the sudden silence was due to them not wanting to be discovered.
that happened to me in grass valley Ca. shit was crazy. Some woman kept yelling help in different variations such as, help me, somebody please, help, oh my god help, someone... ect.. I actually called the cops and they arrested me for being hysterical. didnt even look where I told them I heard it coming from. I ran towards it and it got louder the whole time until I yelled, "where are you" then it stopped. this was in the woods in the mountain on property. it was coming from right over the fenceline to another property where a huge thorn bush type deal ran for a good half mile with little passageways and openings inside. someone could die there and never be found. everyone said I was crazy but I honestly believe it was real. the adrenaline was intense.
That sounds like a peacock, actually. They sound like unintelligible 'human yelling', often like 'cries for help', when they're really just screaming to make everyone think they mated. Someone out in a couple mile radius might just have a fancybird pet. Edit: I know this because my neighbors fancy themselves farmers and also have a fancybird pet. You can hear the damn thing for miles. It is a very happy fancybird that makes everyone listen to it scream about how much sex it gets. I am apparently not allowed to turn it into fancybird hors d'vours...
