Today, the communications expert I'm forced to work with added the line "as they can catch bigger fishes" to a film script. She does not believe me when I tell her that the plural of fish is "fish." This idiot not only has the final word, she makes twice what I do. FML

Today, my coworker keeps loudly saying things like, "Oh, now THIS!" If I don't ask, "What?" she pouts. If I do ask, she tells me, at length and with very bad grammar, how every one of our colleagues and partners is either stupid, rude or out to get her. FML

Today, at work, I took an order from a stuck-up sounding lady over the phone. She said her last name was "duckling, but with an F". Bemused, I wrote her name on the order. When she arrived to pick it up later, she told me she'd said "s", not "f". FML

Today, my boss and I were preparing a lunch order for a nearby real-estate agency. I noticed that the order was riddled with spelling mistakes, so I laughed and mocked the realtors, calling them stupid and incompetent. My boss then pointed out that the order was written in his handwriting. FML

Today, I went to my boss with concerns that my manager is dumping her responsibilities on me. He agreed and told me to just do whatever she wants. She gets paid twice as much as me to talk on her cellphone all day. FML

Today, I made it onto my boss's shit-list, after pointing out that he'd misspelled "customer" as "costumer" 6 times in his report, and "college education" as "collage education" twice. It'd be a dick move on his part even if making corrections like this weren't part of my damn job. FML

Today, I was at work and was confronted by a customer wanting to get a "Nemo" fish. I explained that 'Nemo' needs to live in saltwater, not freshwater, like their tank was. The customer then turns around and grabs a perforated tank divider and says, "Can't I just split them up with this?" FML

Today, my boss yelled at me for ruining the report she was supposed to write with my "terrible spelling and grammar". I've checked it thoroughly, and all of her 'corrections' are wrong. She doesn’t believe me, and is refusing to look at a dictionary. FML

I am studying English Literature and fishes is not wrong. There's a difference between fish and fishes; fishes means many kinds of fish( like shark, salmon, sardines ), while fish can be singular or plural but for one kind of fish.

You should verify your own knowledge before posting about your perception of other people's mistakes. "Fishes" is an acceptable term, especially in the scientific community. You should have noted that it is a legitimate term when your internet browser did not add the red squiggly line under it as you typed your post. Fishes is particularly used when referring to multiple species, as opposed to just an unspecified group of fish.

If its all the same kind of fish, the plural is fish. If its different kinds, its fishes. ex: Several gold fish. ex: An aquarium of fishes.

"Fish" is singular or plural for one type of fish. "Fishes" is plural for different types or species of fish. Both are grammatically correct in respective contexts. Source: AP English literature, and my mom, who has been a copy editor for years.
