You OK dude?

By Casper - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, a flight attendant asked me if I was airsick because I looked really pale. I told her that was my normal complexion but thanked her for her concern. She insisted, "No, that can't be normal." FML

A doctor once told me that I was sickly pale and probably had something seriously wrong with me. She wouldn't believe me when I told her it was my natural skin tone. My neighbor also once told my mom that she thought I had leukemia. She didn't understand that I bruise easily just because I'm pale.

I prefer my skin without sun damage, thank you. (I'm ludicrously pale as well)

Awhh... I'm a redhead and can't tan for anything... I feel everyone's pain here...

LUCKY YOU COULD B LIKE A VAMPIRE IN TWILIGHT! SO COOL

You should have said "well, when I throw up then I'll do it on you."

I'm freaky pale, too. Wear that skin with pride!

paler people are more beautiful

Ahahahaha. I don't think anybody has ever asked me if I was sick or something... but I have had people call me a vampire. =/

I understand your pain. I get asked if I am sick all the time I am so pale. I actually blend into white walls. My friends nicknamed me casper in school. I can actually get second degree blistering burns from little time in the sun. It sucks, I live in the city that gets the most sun in my country. When I was taking my lifeguard swimming lessons, my teacher kept laughing at me and apologizing, she just couldn't help it, I looked like a ghost going through the chlorinated water. Ah well, I look forward to nicer skin when I am older than those who tan constantly.

I understand, I'm super pale, and I have dark circles under my eyes. People constantly think I'm ill/anemic. My mother would always lay out in the sun to tan, while I'd hide inside or under hats because I burn so easily. Last year my mother was diagnosed with skin cancer. A tan's not worth that, I'll stay pale, thanks.
