Today, I'm studying abroad in Mexico and someone asked me what it's like to be from Minnesota. I responded in Spanish, in front of thirty people, what I thought translated to, "If you get cold, you can just put on a jacket." Apparently, what I thought meant "jacket" actually meant "masturbate". FML

Actually, you are all missing the FML here. She used the word 'chaqueta' wich correctly means jacket in Spanish but in Mexican slang, 'chaqueta' means to **********. So in all fairness your spanish was correct but while in Mexico you may want to stay with 'Chamarra' instead of 'Chaqueta' when referring to your jacket.

fail. I'm in Spanish 1 and I know chaqueta is Spanish for jacket. did you forget to learn the language first?

Read the other comments. Mexican slang is different from proper Spanish. Just like France French is different from Quebec French. It's called culture.

"Chaqueta" also means jerking off :o

That was your response to their question? I think you were better off saying ********** at least you didn't look as stupid...

Jacket and jack it are two separate things.

if you get cold, you can just put on a **********... i live by those rules
